Downtown Improvement Grant Program

Matching Grants to Enhance the Downtown

The Downtown Improvement Grant Program provides matching grants for improvements that enhance the aesthetic appeal of the downtown. As one of our American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)-funded initiatives, the Downtown Improvement Grant Program aims to encourage reinvestment into older buildings, preserving their character and utility. We seek to stimulate the local economy by supporting downtown placemaking efforts that will encourage pedestrian activity.

 

​Funds can be used for exterior and/or interior improvements that benefit the downtown area (prevailing wage may apply to construction projects).

​

  • Matching grant for up to 50% of total project costs

  • Grants range from $1,000 - $20,000​

  • Project must be approved prior to construction / implementation

  • Reimbursable upon satisfactory project completion
